Nine by Janine is a homegrown, ethical chic footwear brand, based out of Mumbai, India, that boasts of carefully handcrafted products made from genuine leather. All our pieces are beautifully handwrought by local artisans, with as many as 30 years of expertise in their craft. Our label’s moniker, of course, comes from our founder Janine’s name, and the brand is not only an extension of her name, but of her personality too. In keeping with the theme, we decided to introduce the sandals in this collection in nine colours – just like all the girls out there, our founder loves to have a wide variety to choose from! No surprise then, that we call all our leather sandals ‘Nines’!

We truly believe that a business cannot, and should not, be run in the present day, without regard to environmental sustainability. By extension, we have a zero waste policy. And so, our production process is mindful, with each of our distinctive pieces being made to order, and created with utmost love and care, as opposed to being mass produced.
